May Angels Lead You In

Picture’s work in progress

One typical day I was looking through my pictures, not bothering to look for scholarships and do my homework, and I found this picture I drew back in 2010. It’s been over a year and I saw so many mistakes I could point out in this sketch XD Proof of that this was drawn in 2010 is the signature there in between.

I decided to color it when I discovered this sketch, so I started in the first week of January.

Lineart was added to some parts and I colored the base of Ken’s hair. I ignored my sketch lines whenever I felt like it looks wrong, and used the path tool to fix up some areas. (the pocket in the jacket, Ari’s hair…)

Colored 90% of Ken. Used a lot of Overlaying and Soft Lighting with the brush tool. More lineart is added

Totally did not follow the wings on the sketch. It looked awkward to me so I colored in my own. Used a very dark blue (almost black) as a base for Ari’s hair and added lighting.

More coloring and shading and lighting :u and added two mysterious golden birds.

Individually colored the doves. No copying and pasting were involved (which I usually do at times).

Here’s the final outcome of the picture. Jumped from GIMP to PS 7.0 to add some spiffy effects :P

Secret Santa Gift 2011

Trying a different method to color on Photoshop. (which I think I made it too complicated…)

Added in the eyes, colored the major parts. (note don’t mind the fading text in the background, my scanner scanned that part, which was my extra 5% off thing for hot topic and I never used. xD)
